An avulsed tooth, where a tooth is knocked out of its socket due to trauma needs emergency treatment as time is of the essence and immediate action needed to save the tooth. If you can locate the tooth, pick it up by the crown(not root), rinse with cold water, milk, or saline and replant back into the socket, biting down gently on clean gauze to keep in place. If you can't replant the tooth, store it in milk, saline or coconut water, or between the cheek and gums. Avoid letting the tooth dry out and visit a dentist as early as possible. The tooth will be reimplanted and stabilised in the mouth and root canal treatment done.
